A Morning At Curtis Falls 15/2

Curtis Falls is probably the most popular waterfall on Mount Tamborine in the Gold Coast hinterland. I know I’ve shot here a whole heap of times, at least. I was up early this morning and decided to head out to Mount Tamborine and re-shoot the waterfall.

I decided to go for an unconventional composition with this one and have the waterfall in the centre of frame, and focus on the lower half of the falls. I’ve shot Curtis Falls so many times, I think I just wanted to try something different. The recent rainfall and flooding around the Gold Coast has pushed the huge log that sits in front of the falls right around, so I climbed out onto it instead of staying behind the barriers. This allowed me to shoot from a slightly different angle, and to get a lot closer and focus on capturing a bit more detail.

7 photos stitched. Each frame is 4 sec @ f/20 and ISO50.
