Burleigh Heads Panoramic 26/2
I woke up this morning hoping that we’d have a nice blue sky and white fluffy clouds, but unfortunately that was not the case; their were a few too many clouds. I still made my way down to Burleigh Heads, one of my favourite spots on the Gold Coast, to shoot. It had been ages since I’d shot a beach scene in broad daylight, which is the reason I was keen to get out there even though the conditions weren’t as I had hoped. Usually, I like to shoot longer exposures once it starts to get a bit darker, or while the colours are bright orange or red.
This five photo panoramic stitch was my favourite of the morning. Once again, I’ve processed it in color and as a black and white image. I’d like your opinions on if you think the colour or black and white version is better.
The woman in the centre of this image asked me if she could take my photo as she walked by. She must have thought I was some kind of famous photographer! ;)

Nice shot Beau, For me I like the B&W version better a very nice conversion, new blog looks tops btw or is this a whole new site haha! looks good.
Nice shot Beau. I’m going to say colour for me.
Thanks, Alex. So far: 1 colour, 1 black and white…
Wow, you did a good job! Nice work.
Maybe it’s just my eyes, but I think that the colour version provides better perceived texture in the sea, sand and the trees on Burleigh Heads. It certainly vividly brought back memories of weekly walks along the Burleigh strand many years ago! Lovely image.
Thanks for your input, Ian. I see what you mean. I’m glad this image could bring back some memories for you.
Love the picture, reminds me of our walks along Burleigh beach. Oh yeah, I like the colour version.
Long time viewer / first time poster. Really enjoy reading the blog, keep up the excellent work. Will most definitely start posting more in the near future.

Cheers, Will. Much appreciated! I was leaning towards the black and white version myself, but thought I’d post up the colour version to get some other peoples thoughts. It’s a whole new site. I rebuilt everything around WordPress so that I could set up a shopping cart system for easier sales for clients.
