Australia – Short Clips 07/4

I have put together a few short clips from my last few weeks with the Canon 5D MkII. I have no idea how to edit video footage, but just thought I’d share this anyway.

The footage is from:
Nerang River, Gold Coast, QLD
Springbrook National Park, Gold Coast, QLD
Perth, WA
Wategoes Beach, Byron Bay, NSW
Brindle Creek, Border Ranges, NSW

Brindle Creek Vertical 27/3

I was going through some more of the images from the Border Ranges trip and came across this composition. The rain forest in the Border Ranges National Park is out of this world – it seems as if nobody has ever been there before you.

The sky was overcast so I thought heading out into the hinterland for some waterfall photos would be a good idea. I packed all my gear quickly and jumped in the car. Initially I was heading out to shoot Twin Falls in Springbrook National Park, but I never made it that far. I found a cool little creek along the way where this photo was taken. I spent an hour or so here walking around, looking for different angles, and waiting for the light to fade.

The next stop was at Natural Bridge where my camera battery ran out after only a couple hours of shooting. The 5D MkII batteries don’t seem to last very long with live view on. I guess I better buy myself a spare or two.

Canungra Valley Vineyards 08/3

The Gold Coast hinterland is filled with great little bits of hidden treasure. Sunday had my girlfriend and I out at Canungra for lunch. After we had eaten we had some time to spare so, instead of going straight home, we decided to drive around a little to explore. I had my camera on me of course! We came across this vineyard and pulled over for a while to take in the scenery and wildlife. The name of this place is O’reilly’s: Canungra Valley Vineyards and despite it being a little overcast, it was a stunning setting.

Hope you enjoy it!

Currumbin Creek 01/3

A couple of months back Emily and I spent the day out at Currumbin Creek. It was fairly overcast which created the perfect conditions to shoot some slow shutter photographs of the creek and trees above. I tried a few different compositions, but liked this one that included the swirling water in the foreground the most.
