Perth 2010 HD Short 25/4

As most of you probably know, I’ve recently purchased the Canon 5D MkII and have been playing around with the HD video features of the camera. The quality of the recordings it captures is quite astonishing as you can see here.

This is just a quick edit I have put together as I don’t have much more footage to play with at the moment. Over the coming weeks I will be traveling around Perth capturing some more footage and I will extend the length of this film.

Thanks for viewing,

Beau Mitchell

SS Decoy, South Perth 25/4

SS Decoy - Perth, Western Australia

I have wanted to shoot this angle of Perth including the Decoy for a while now, and the other night I finally got off my ass and drove down to South Perth. I think it might be better at sunrise, so I’ll have to return here early one morning, maybe over this coming week if any other Perth photographers wants to join me?

It’s a 7 photo stitch with the 5D MkII and 50mm lens. It came out at about 60″ at 300dpi, which will allow for a generous sized print.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my photographs!

Pinnacle Lookout, Border Ranges 30/3

After trekking through the Brindle Creek rain forest track for a couple of hours taking photographs of the creeks and trees, Emily and I moved further around the mountain to the Pinnacle Lookout.

The Pinnacle Lookout is located in the Border Ranges National Park in Northern New South Wales and is only a short walk from the main road that loops around the mountain. On this particular day I was pretty lucky with the cloud formations.

Shortly after taking this photo we crashed Emily’s car into a tree and wrote it off. Luckily neither of us were injured too badly.

Canungra Valley Vineyards 08/3

The Gold Coast hinterland is filled with great little bits of hidden treasure. Sunday had my girlfriend and I out at Canungra for lunch. After we had eaten we had some time to spare so, instead of going straight home, we decided to drive around a little to explore. I had my camera on me of course! We came across this vineyard and pulled over for a while to take in the scenery and wildlife. The name of this place is O’reilly’s: Canungra Valley Vineyards and despite it being a little overcast, it was a stunning setting.

Hope you enjoy it!

Twin Lakes, Bali 25/2

I shot this panorama of the Twin Lakes in Bali while I was over there last year in July.

The Twin Lakes are located in Northern Bali, near Bedugul, about 2 and a half to 3 hours drive from the tourist capital, Kuta. The lakes are known as Tamblingan Lake and Buyan Lake; Buyan Lake, on the right, being the third biggest lake on the island.

I also processed this as a black and white – not sure which I prefer yet. Any suggestions?
